Lemtrans invested more than 300 million hryvnias into Ukraine in 2022

The total scope of the railway carriage by Lemtrans based on the operational results in 2022 made 18.8 million tonnes of freight of various types, and the main share of the freight carried was coal and construction materials. In particular, the volume of coal carriage reached 13.9 million tonnes, and the volume of the construction materials was 2.02 million tonnes. Moreover, the loading volume of ore made 1.64 million tonnes, of black metal — 0.48 million tonnes, and of flux — 0.3 million tonnes.
Due to the redirection of the transport flows, the most topical issue is to increase the carrying capacity of the export and import carriage with the European countries.


INVESTMENT BY THE COMPANY
The total capital investment amounted to UAH 306 million in 2022. In 2022, Lemtrans kept placing a priority on the major investment projects that created conditions for sustainable development in the long-term prospect. The same way as before, one of the key areas for investment in 2022 was container shipping.
“Despite the war, we have not ceased to invest into our projects. We completed the construction and opened the terminal in Mostyska with our partner this year,” explains Vladimir Mezentsev, Lemtrans CEO. “Together with Levada Cargo (subsidiary of Lemtrans), we kept working to ensure potential development of the intermodal terminal network and to purchase fitting platforms and containers. The investment within those projects exceeded UAH 290 hryvnias.”
Also, in 2022, Lemtrans focused on energy independence of the car repair depot and stable business operations.


PERFORMANCE OF INFRASTRUCTURE ASSETS
The volume of scheduled and current types of freight car repairs at car repair sites of Lemtrans amounted to 6,914 units over 12 months of 2022.


TAXES
Lemtrans transferred UAH 1.3 billion to the budgets of all levels over 12 months of 2022. UAH 1.2 billion were transferred to the state budget alone, including UAH 762 million of VAT. More than UAH 95 million were paid to the local budgets. The single social security tax made UAH 87 million.

HUMANITARIAN AID AND CHARITABLE INITIATIVES
More than UAH 22 million were transferred during the war to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Territorial Defence Forces and as humanitarian aid for the public. Our support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defence Forces also includes purchasing and transferring the motor vehicles, body armour, producing anti-tank hedgehogs to defend the Ukrainian cities as well as pot-belly stoves.
