During the first half of 2019 Lemtrans shipped up to 24.85 million tons of cargoes

According to the results of the first half of 2019, Lemtrans transported 24.85 million tons of various cargoes. Compared to the same period last year, the decrease made 3.94% (25.87 million tons in the first half of 2018).
The loading structure of Lemtrans  did not change in general in the reporting period. In the six months of 2019, the main loading volume for coal made 10.44 million tons and for iron ore - 8.15 million tons. At the end of the first half of 2018, these types of cargoes were transported at 9.93 million tons and 8.68 million tons, respectively.

In January-June, the company transported 3.83 million tonnes of ferrous metals (3.62 million tons in the first half of 2018), 1.12 million tons of fluxes (1.60 million tons in the first half of 2018) and 0.99 million tonnes of coke (1.54 million tons in the first half of 2018). The decrease is primarily due to the increase in railcar turnover and a drop in the average train speed (Lemtrans' turnover in the first half of 2018 was 7.8 days, in the first half of 2019 - 8.9 days, the increase is 1.1 days or 14%).

"The locomotive traction deficit has also effected together with the surplus of the car fleet resulting from the excessive purchase of the cars by the market participants in 2018-2019, provoked by the traction problems," says Vladimir Mezentsev, the CEO of Lemtrans. - In general, the solution must be complex. And now the first step is to adopt a new law on rail transport".

Infrastructure assets results: The company's repair assets demonstrate a consistent improvement in key operating factors. During 6 months of 2019, the volume of scheduled repairs of the freight cars at the production sites made 3 630 units.
