Lemtrans transports 14.6m tonnes of freight

In Q1 2014, Lemtrans has transported 14.6m tonnes of freight.

In particular, coal transportation grew 37% to 8.85m tonnes making over 60% of the total freight handled. The volumes of iron ore raw materials dropped by 2% to 2.1m tonnes. In addition, in January-March 2014 the company transported 1.5m tonnes of ferrous metals, 1.2m tonnes of flux and 814,000 tonnes of coke.

Lemtrans CEO Vladimir Mezentsev said:

"Last year we worked hard to establish a long-term relationship with our key clients. We discussed and signed the strategic partnership agreements to optimise our transportations. Moreover, we changed our approach to clients by establishing a unit of service managers responsible for full coordination of handling operations. Now we use our car fleet more efficiently."
