Lemtrans Group and Rail Trans Investment have completed the first phase of construction on their joint project, the Fastiv Container Terminal.

As part of this stage, new infrastructure has been developed: two fully equipped railway tracks and a container yard with storage capacity of up to 1,350 TEU. The terminal covers more than 13 hectares, with an annual throughput capacity of 19,000 TEU. In line with its growth strategy, this figure is expected to reach 55,000 TEU in the future. The completed rail infrastructure enables the terminal to handle full-length trains, ensuring efficient loading and unloading operations. Modern equipment and facilities significantly speed up cargo processing.

“The Fastiv Container Terminal is the result of the partnership between Lemtrans Group and Rail Trans Investment. This is not only our investment in logistics but also a contribution to Ukraine’s recovery and integration into the European economy,” said Volodymyr Mezentsev, CEO of Lemtrans.

The total investment in the first phase amounts to about $7 million.

“Ukrainian businesses today need stable and predictable logistics. We are therefore pleased that another intermodal terminal has appeared on Ukraine’s logistics map, helping strengthen the competitiveness of Ukrainian exporters and importers,” commented Rail Trans Investment.

The terminal will provide a full range of services: container depot operations and transportation, stuffing of various cargo categories (grain, oil, equipment, vehicles), as well as a customs clearance zone and brokerage services.

“The opening of the container terminal is an example of how systematic work, strategic planning, and the joining of efforts at both international and national levels can deliver tangible results. Today, Fastiv has rightfully secured an important place on the logistics map of Ukraine and Europe,” said Mykhailo Netiazhuk, Mayor of Fastiv.

The terminal’s location enables the organisation of regular container trains not only to Odesa but also to European ports including Gdansk, Hamburg, Trieste, and others.

“We are convinced that a strong economy is impossible without modern infrastructure. The launch of the first phase of the Fastiv Container Terminal is another step toward creating reliable conditions for integrating local businesses into global trade,” said Volodymyr Demenko, CEO of Levada Cargo.

He also emphasised the importance of partnership with local and regional authorities, as well as with Ukrzaliznytsia, which supported the successful implementation of the project.
